
Annual citrus day will feature discussions on Huanglongbing and Asian citrus psyllid
The annual University of California Citrus Day takes place Feb. 6 at the UC Riverside Agricultural Operations Center, 1060 Martin Luther King Blvd, Riverside. Registration begins at 7 a.m. The event runs until 3 p.m.
Those wanting to attend must register for the event. Cost is $35 and includes lunch. Registration is available online. 5 hours of CEU credits for PCAs are available. No walk-in registrations will be allowed.
The agenda includes:
- 7:30 a.m. – Update on new pesticide regulations
- 8:30 a.m. Updates by the Citrus Research Board, CDFA; and, introductions of the BSL3 facility, UCR Public Policy and Riverside Agricultural Commissioner Ruben Arroyo.
- 9 a.m. – Panel discussion on HLB
- 10 a.m. – Break
- 10:30 a.m. – Desert lemon trial discussion
- 11 a.m. – Asian citrus psyllid management
- Noon – Lunch and poster session
- 1 a.m. – Field discussions on ant control, development of field tools for HLB management, and, a display and opportunity to provide feedback on unreleased hybrids and new irradiated selections and introductions.
